2022.01.17 13:53 Future_Wrongdoer_976 Self Correction: Plasmoids mistaken for UFOs. (though ball lightning certainly gets mistaken) Sorry for being rude.

Plasmoids are a natural part of our planet, though they've been mistaken as aliens/ interdimensional beings, they are not. The idea of interdimensional UFOs started with Gray Barker; the hoaxer who created the Mothman and Indrid Cold. Those who teach that aliens will help us ascend, are charlatans. When you black out you get a hint of death, there is no afterlife, and there's no aliens training us to get there. That is a lie created by the "disclosure" community. Though natural, they have been proven to be sentient: but I doubt you can summon them with your mind, they have more chance of showing up during sunsets. They can and also have been created artificially. I think Egypt mistook them for God, as the Ark of the Covenant would have a plasma ball displayed in it's wings; once powered by daily sacrifices.

2022.01.17 13:53 KoolKrizzz RBIF rewards

Hello all. I have a question about the rewards. I keep reading here that some holders got their gas fees back within a few days through the rewards. I've been holding RBIF for a while but all I've gotten in rewards are pennies. How can that be?
Maybe one of you has a plan.
Cheers ✌🏾

I might have misread it but I remember seeing something regarding the Meta rebranding that you can use your Oculus accounts with Oculus devices once again.

2022.01.17 13:53 ScienceMomCO Just curious, but why do people in the UK point to things using their middle finger?

American with English parents here. When I watch British TV shows I notice that many people point to things using their middle finger. My kids ask me about it as well since over here pointing with your middle finger instead of your index finger is a little rude. It’s just complete curiosity that I’m asking since I’m probably pulling answers out of my ass when I answer my kids.

2022.01.17 13:53 sarcasticnihilism "harvard" called me and I am super confused

I got a call the other day from an anonymous number at 1:31 am with a real nonrobotic voice that told me I had some missing paperwork and to contact them immediately. I am slightly confused because my entire checklist has been complete for three weeks now, and I havent had any issues with other schools. Is this a scam?
I can't call harvard until tomorrow or Wednesday but I dont know what to do.

2022.01.17 13:53 hirotopia Is cleaning up after a cyberattack worth it or should the infra be rebuit?

We are setting up quite a bit of new processes for our disaster recovery plan, and our management seems keen on a "repair and diagnosis" approach, helped by a cybersecurity firm to "clean the servers" in case we are attacked.
I was under the assumption that burning everything with fire and restarting from scratch with the backed up data would be less of a liability and ensure a higher "trust" in our integrity.
So, does anyone have been though this battle and lived to tell the tale ? Is cleaning up less/more secure than rebuilding ? Can there be leftovers ? Is there a place where one might be better than the other (something like ransomware vs simple worm?, can we even make out a difference?)
If you have pointers towards a doc or paper I'll also take it. Cheers and take care of yourselves!

2022.01.17 13:53 ForTheWinMag Assistance requested for a solid NFA analogy....

I'm trying to reframe the insanity of the NFA to explain to the uninitiated why it's past time to amend/abolish it.
My analogy right now is: The Federal Government says it's illegal and wrong to smoke marijuana. But what if the government made a law that says "it's perfectly fine to smoke weed, and we won't arrest you, *IF you smoke it in an approved pipe"* which, it just so happens, you must pay a $4,100 tax (1934 exchange rate) to the government to own?
Those who ask the question: "but why does anyone need a silencer?" might be -- the Gun Control Lite crowd, who think guns are just for hunting; Fudds who aren't too keen on anything that appears too "tactical" or modern; the Progressive-ish who are going to recognize the inherent unfairness in any law that applies only to those who are too poor to buy a license; and anyone else who might start a sentence with "I support the Second Amendment, but..."
What are the strengths and weaknesses in the "approved weed-pipe stamp tax" argument? Is there a better analogy you'd use instead?

2022.01.17 13:53 CSM_r_JFeatherston My short vacation that sent the Texas Military department into a panic mode.

To see photos, you must go to my Facebook page.
Check out my unintentional IO campaign from this past weekend. LG Morton, an anonymous Guardsmen (to protect his identity), and I, went to Colorado. Texas Military Department (TMD) went into a tailspin when I posted I was going to the Border. I meant the New Mexico Border, TMD thought the Mexico border.
Years ago, my twin sister lived on the Texas / New Mexico border in Texline. The running joke between Melissa and I this weekend was that I was going to the border town of Texline. So I posted the following:
“On a long trip, actually headed to the border with another Retired CSM to check things out. It’s always good to see another part of Texas. God Bless Texas and our Troops on the Border.”
I am traveling with my good friend CSM (R) Lou Morton and an unnamed guardsman (normally I would state his name but he is still in the military.) We decided a couple of weeks ago to check on Lou’s cabin and spend the weekend at 7K feet. We brought some lights and supplies to keep at the cabin.
Shortly after I posted I was headed to the border, COL Patrick Nolan sent out the following to his staff:
Staff, effective immediately, only the following are allowed access into an OLS Base Camp: OLS assigned personnel, Law Enforcement partners, Base Camp employees, and pre coordinated family visits (met at the gate and escorted by the family member)
Absolutely no entrance to anyone outside those groups.
Force Protection, I need you to contact all security OICs at the Base Camps and confirm these instructions. Acknowledge when complete (see attached picture)
Once this was sent to me, I decided to comment on a few friends who posted to my original Facebook post. John Crawson, Will Smith, and others wished me a safe trip, the wind was blowing hard all over Texas. A long time friend text me a photo of the flags at the Weslaco Armory to show me how windy it was there. I decided to post the picture of the flags flying on Facebook, tag the location they were taken, and a then received a screenshot that originated from the TF East CSM with the following: (See attached picture)
SGM Carlos Diaz Fysa, Retired CSM Featerson and another unidentified CM are at weslaco armory time now. Might visit hotels also. Just keep being the professionals you are and stress that to our SMs.
It was a long drive to Colorado, We spent the day talking to Soldiers on the phone and seeing if there was anything we could help them. Many Soldiers have reached out. One Soldier reached out a few days ago and I passed that information to MG Aris and he got the Soldiers’ issue solved.
I posted on Twitter that I talked to Operation Lone Star Soldiers and how much I love their stories. Just so everyone knows, if you want to know what goes on in any unit, find the lower enlisted Soldiers, they are very open and honest.
Saturday evening I received multiple text from reporters, campaign managers, and Soldiers with the following.

  1. From the S3: Hey guys, LTC blank informed me that Retired CSM Featherston is going around tomorrow with some other retired people to talk to Soldiers and basically gas light with the Alan West political agenda. Tell Soldiers to not engage and keep them out of the base camp.
  2. Lisa, I know it's late but I got word from my command that Allen is suppose to be in my area tomorrow. My command is being told to not let him and his team on our base, but I can meet him and take him around to our points and give him any info he needs.
Good Evening, we [Allen West] will have two events locally tomorrow. Not planning on coming in base.
Where are you going to be? If he intends to be in the Zapata area let me know please. Gen Norris must be getting nervous if we are getting ordered not to talk to Allen. It's coming down from my battalion command, so I can only assume it's coming from Uils or Norris
  1. Be advised, LTC (R) Allen West and CSM (R) Featherson are apparently going to be around our AO and in Zapata. Base CMDR has been informed to not let them on base or to anyones LP/OP security points. If you know who they are, you know what they're trying to do, push their political agenda. Despite your political views, they are no longer TMD personnel and are not on the list to enter the base. Obviously you cant be stopped from talking to them outside of base, but can only caution you to be careful what you say. OPSEC is key. If anyone comes across them, run it up the chain to Camp CMDR immediately. No time on when to expect them, except possibly sometime tomorrow Pending any questions or concerns, that is all.
So, Here is a picture from the Texas / New Mexico Border, not to be confused with Texas / Mexico border. Thank you Lou, for driving, taking the pictures of me next to Texline and Texas signs, and sharing your cabin the past few days.
There are several things that can be taken away from this story.
  1. I had no idea that my plans were so important that TMD had the time to follow my Facebook post. One would think that they would be working on Soldier welfare items. The energy TMD wasted on trying to track me should have been spent on Soldier welfare needs.
  2. I am not sure why COL Patrick D. Nolan would send out a message regarding who is allowed in the Base Camps. In my opinion, This should have been established when the camps were setup. Maybe in some sort of Force Protection annex…..?
  3. Commanders should not push political themes to their Troops. See attached. I have no political agenda. Every reporter I talk to I make it a point to state “I am only concerned about the Troops and their hardships.” There must be some regulatory guidance about the topic.
  4. TMD do better, this is getting embarrassing.
  5. To the several dozen requesting troops that wanted to eat diner and have a chat, I will make the drive down south with several retired CSM/SGMs. I would love to host a diner honoring you for the great things you signed up to do.
